Leigh Adams to manage Gillman Select Solo team - September 2013

Gillman Speedway is happy to confirm that 10 times Australian Champion, Leigh Adams will take the role of “Team Manager” of the Gillman Select Team against the Boocock Young Lions British Touring Team for the Friday, 13 December match.
“I think this type of meeting is great for Australian Speedway, these meetings are what the boys do all season in the UK and Europe and when you are supporting a team, it’s like football here, the crowd gets very passionate, it will be a good night I am sure” said Adams.
Like the Aussie lads when they race overseas, we know that the visitors want to win every meeting they race at and the Gillman track will suit their style of riding.
“Yeah we need to put a good team together as they have some good riders in their team, especially the top half of the team. We will need to see who is available and make sure we get the strongest team we can”, said Adams. “We need to pick a strong Captain and build on it from there”.
Another former international rider, Shane Parker, was previously mentioned as the likely team manager but he now looks like riding in the match and if so would be the obvious choice as the captain.
The match will be on a Friday night, instead of the normal Saturday night, to avoid a clash with the South Australian Under 16 125cc Solo Championship which was already allocated to the Saturday night.
