Flat Track Cup races and Speedway practice at Gillman on Saturday

The first of the Gillman Speedway winter practice days will also feature the Gillman Flat Track Cup for several classes this Saturday afternoon, 17 May 2025.

The main event will be the Senior Flat Track 500cc 2-stroke & Over 300cc 4-stroke class with 16 riders, including regular Gillman Flat Track riders Kyle Machin, Roy Stout and Dale Knights, speedway rider Harry Sadler, and current or past speedway sidecar competitors, Jesse Headland, Josh Pascoe, Kane Golding, Nate Headland, Jesse Irwin, Dylan Irwin and Jaxon Rayner, most of which have shown out well in previous Flat Track appearances.

Gates open at 10am (eastern gate only, behind the pits) and the first event will start at 12pm.

Spectator admission is just $10 for adults, with under 16 free, and there will be free A4 racecards available at the bar (with more printed on request if needed).

The bar will be open for drinks and snacks and there will also be a potato van on site.

The presentation of trophies for the Flat Track Cup classes will be in the Bob White VIP Room at the conclusion of the meeting.

Venue: Gillman Speedway Stadium, 65 Wilkins Road, Gillman – near the Port Adelaide area.

Entrance: Entry only via the eastern gate (behind the pits).

Gates open: at 10am.

Pit access for spectators: Free spectator access to the pits until approximately 11.15 am, and after the meeting.

Racing starts: at 12 pm.

Smoking, Vaping: by Government legislation, no smoking or vaping allowed at this venue.

Pets: No animals are allowed into the venue except assistance animals, eg guide dogs.

Directions:

The best way to get to Gillman Speedway is off Hanson Road.

If you are coming from the eastern and southern suburbs, get on to Hanson road off Torrens Road or Grand Junction Road, travel north on Hanson road over the train line then take the first road on the left, which is Wilkins road.

From the northern suburbs, travel down the Port Adelaide expressway and take the Hanson Road exit. Once on Hanson Road, take the first exit on your right, this is Wilkins road.

From the western suburbs, Wilkins Road is the continuation of Bedford Street, north of Eastern Parade.
