Emerging Sidecar Stars, Howse and Commons, sign for the Ikon Suspension International Speedway Masters
Power Production Media Release 21 July 2024
The Broken Hill (NSW) based pairing of Max Howse and Riley Commons have been added to the elite field being assembled to contest the Ikon Suspension International Speedway Masters, at Gillman Speedway.
The second generation stars will contest the Darrin Treloar Cup, being staged on night one (December 27), of the two night ISM24. Night two, December 28, will feature the Leigh Adams Medal for an international field of 500cc solos.
Following in the tyre tracks of their illustrious fathers, Rick and Adam, the twenty year olds started racing together in junior competition eight years ago, prior to graduating into the senior ranks during the 2020/21 racing season. The duo finished a credible tenth place in the Australian Championship in their debut season.
Showing maturity beyond their young age, Max and Riley have continued to impress, following multiple podium placings in the New South Wales and Victorian State Championships.
Max Howse says it’s an honour to have been invited to contest the Darrin Treloar Cup, forming a major part of the two-night Ikon International Speedway Masters.
“Riley and I feel very privileged to have received an invitation to compete in an event such as this,” he said.
“We are honoured to ride against the international teams and the most respected Australian teams too, as we’ve grown up admiring many of the riders that we’ll be facing at this meeting.
“Darrin Treloar is the best ever and it’s awesome that this event is honouring him, as well as Leigh Adams, the following night. Darrin has been a great mentor to Riley and I and we are hell-bent on performing well on what will be a very big stage”.
The Max Howse/Riley Commons Team is proudly supported by: Mildura Plaza Motor Inn, Matthew Quin Electrical, Grenfell Fabrication & Maintenance, Darrin Treloar TRE, Cohen Constructions, Rob’s Dirt Bike Repairs, South Coast Stainless Steel, MJG Engineering, 7 Day Spares, Verrob Rural Services, GT Loader Hire, Otto’s Carpentry Services and Mick’s Bulk Wood.
